If the issue is not resolved by now, please see the additional information from our consultant: ############## Problem: Fatal error 1601 during the installation of USB connected printer. ► Yes, LarryG could be right.
There may be left overs from other printers causing conflicts. I am attaching Kyocera Printer Deleter Utility.txt as it is difficult to get. You need to rename the file to.ZIP. But you say 'I have faced this error several times with different printers with different computers.'
, which is rather indicating issues in your system. ► The cause could be in Windows Installer as Fatal Error 1601 is related. See several tips, especially delete all temporary files. ► You may have malware and viruses in your system.
You may try, e.g., AdwCleaner and JRT Malwarebytes. ► However, it could also be that you do not have chipset and USB drivers installed on the computers resulting in USB miscommunication with the printer. Go to your computer, Intel and/or AMD support web pages, download and install appropriate drivers. ► Are you using good quality USB cables? Not too long?
Are USB plugs and sockets alright? Avoid USB hubs for the printer's installation. Plug the printer straight into the computer's USB socket. ► Sometimes these issues are printer's firmware related. I would highly recommend to install new firmware as it is addressing several sleeping issues, that could be also USB communication related (timing). Reboot the printer before the update.
Exactly as you have done, I would avoid USB connection and go for network one, which offers several benefits over USB.
